Overview

Are you looking for a unique and memorable way to explore the charming villages of the Cotswolds?

Look no further than the Cotswold Village Trail! Our 3-day walking tour is designed to take you on a journey through some of the most picturesque and historic villages in the region.

Itinerary

Arrive in the historic market town of Moreton-in-Marsh, where you’ll receive your welcome pack to kick off your adventure. Settle into your centrally located B&B and take time to explore the town’s traditional high street, antique shops, and cozy pubs.

Begin your walk from Moreton-in-Marsh, crossing the beautiful high wolds toward Stow-on-the-Wold.

Along the way you will pass:

  • Sezincote House – a striking Mogul-style manor house with exotic architecture
  • A number of charming Cotswold hamlets
  • Rolling countryside with far-reaching views

Arrive in Stow-on-the-Wold before 4pm to enjoy a complimentary cream tea in a traditional village tearoom. Spend the evening exploring the picturesque market square, complete with historic village stocks. Overnight in Stow-on-the-Wold.

Today’s circular walk takes you from Stow-on-the-Wold to the beautiful villages of:

  • Broadwell
  • Oddington

Along the route, stop at Daylesford Organic for refreshments and a chance to sample delicious local organic produce.

Return to Stow-on-the-Wold and enjoy time at leisure. Your accommodation is surrounded by excellent restaurants and traditional inns. Why not dine at the historic The Porch House, reputed to be England’s oldest inn?

Your final walk leads from Stow-on-the-Wold to the iconic village of Bourton-on-the-Water, often referred to as the “Venice of the Cotswolds.”

This 9.9 km route passes through peaceful countryside and historic villages. Your detailed maps and guides include carefully selected local recommendations to ensure you don’t miss the best pubs, cafés, and artisan producers along the way.

Lovely place to stay in Cotswold! Not too far from the famous Arlington row. Your staff was very nice and welcoming. The location is exceptional because it is close to the areas we wanted to visit and the town is beautiful!

Amazing stay! The facilities were amazing and cozy, the breakfast was one of the best I’ve had, and the area was amazing. Highly recommend!

Miranda

We selected Davenford Stow Gardens as a base for a stay in the Cotswolds. The team were extremely helpful during the booking process and we received excellent instructions about the check-in process, parking and what to do/where to eat during our stay. Breakfasts were excellent as were the afternoon tea scones which we ended up taking away with us! The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable, and quiet at night even though we were facing the street. A very relaxing stay and we will hope to do again.
