Overview

Are you looking for a unique and memorable way to explore the charming villages of the Cotswolds?

Look no further than the Cotswold Heritage Tour! Our 6-day walking tour is designed to take you on a journey through some of the most picturesque and historic villages in the region.

Itinerary

On Day One, arrive at Moreton-in-Marsh train station and head to your B&B to receive your welcome pack and maps.

On the second day explore the beautiful village of Chipping Camden and start your walk which takes you through Broad Campden, Blockley, and the arboretum and falconry center at Batsford House. Your trail will end at Moreton in Marsh and you will spend a second night at your B&B.

On Day Three, cross the high wolds to Stow-on-the-Wold, complete with village stocks and picturesque square, via the fantastic Mogul manor house at Sezincote and a number of pretty hamlets. Overnight in Stow-on-the-Wold. Arrive before 4pm to enjoy a complimentary cream tea in a traditional village tearoom.

On Day Four, today’s route from Stow-on-the-Wold is a leisurely downhill walk across meadows to picturesque Lower Slaughter and on to Bourton-on-the-Water, with its many attractions. Overnight in Bourton-on-the-Water. This walk would give you the afternoon to enjoy Bourton on the Water’s many restaurants, shops, and museums.

On Day Five, enjoy this 11.2-mile loop trail which leaves from Bourton on the Water. Generally considered a challenging route, it takes an average of 4 h 49 min to complete.

On Day Six, after breakfast, transfer to Bibury, the village described by William Morris as the most beautiful village in England”. Undertake an easy to moderate walk of 6.6 km, head down through the town, and continue onto a circular walk into the countryside. Arrive at the B&B by 4 pm to enjoy a slice of homemade carrot cake and a pot of tea.

On Day Seven, check out this 10.6-km loop trail near Bibury, Gloucestershire. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 2 h 49 min to complete. This is a very popular area for hiking, running, and walking, so you’ll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime.

On Day Eight, transfer to Cirencester Train Station after breakfast.

Lovely place to stay in Cotswold! Not too far from the famous Arlington row. Your staff was very nice and welcoming. The location is exceptional because it is close to the areas we wanted to visit and the town is beautiful!

We selected Davenford Stow Gardens as a base for a stay in the Cotswolds. The team were extremely helpful during the booking process and we received excellent instructions about the check-in process, parking and what to do/where to eat during our stay. Breakfasts were excellent as were the afternoon tea scones which we ended up taking away with us! The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable, and quiet at night even though we were facing the street. A very relaxing stay and we will hope to do again.
